HATE IT! part 2 - It's hard to find a friend

Pedro the fucking lion. It's hard to find a friend, is it? It must be when you sound like this. I really hate this album, and this band in general, for 2 reasons. The first is that this album sounds like a junkie nodding off on smack. The second is that it's god-rock subtly wrapped up in some kind of late-90s hipster disguise. Fuck you, Pedro, for boring me to death, and fuck you again for springing Jesus on me in the middle of it all. Fuck you.

Yeah, when something sucks, and Jesus appears, it's a real bummer. On the flip-side, I totally dig that Doobies song, "Jesus Is Just Alright" which is strange because Jesus isn't right with me.

Well, when it comes to the doobies singing about jesus, I always look at it as jesus being "JUST alright", as opposed to "Awesome". But Pedro the Lion has always pissed me off. Many fans say that it just so happens that the guy behind the music is christian, and that it's not religious music per se, but I disagree. U2 happen to be christian, but write secular music. In Pedro, dude is singing about his relationship with god, and faith and stuff. Pedro's been given all kinds of props from religious music quarters as being one of their own, so I call it god-rock. Even though it certainly does not rock.
